The pier will open seasonally, from April to September, 7.00am to 7.00pm, however this is subject to change at short notice depending on weather conditions, including wind speed, and other factors.
📅 Open seasonally: April - September
🕖 Opening hours: 7.00am - 7.00pm daily
🚶 Access: Gate adjacent to Port of Aberdeen’s Marine Operations Centre (MOC)

“We’ve made a significant investment to enhance North Pier so it can be safely opened to the public. The Tall Ships Races has shown that there’s a real public interest in Aberdeen’s maritime heritage. As a community Trust Port, we’re proud to improve access to the port where we can. It goes without saying that safety is paramount and we ask everyone visiting to follow the site rules and look out for themselves and others.”

Please note: Visitors must follow the site safety rules. Port of Aberdeen reserves the right to close North Pier at its discretion and without any justification necessary.
Originally built by pioneering engineer John Smeaton, it was later extended in 1810 - 1816 by Thomas Telford and extended again under Telford in 1874 - 1977 by William Dyce Cay, Harbour Resident Engineer. Find out more about the history of the North Pier here.
