Port of Aberdeen named as a finalist in two Scottish Green Energy Supply Chain Awards categories

Port of Aberdeen has been shortlisted in the 'Sustainable Supplier' and 'Best Practice Award' categories of the Scottish Green Energy Supply Chain Awards 2025.
Organised by Scottish Renewables, the awards celebrate the people at the heart of the vibrant renewable energy industry, who make the deployment of billion-pound renewable energy projects possible.
Port of Aberdeen has been shortlisted for its award-winning Net Zero Strategy, which outlines a clear path to becoming the UK’s first net zero port by 2040. The port has also been recognised for setting a national benchmark in maritime decarbonisation through the delivery of its £4 million Shore Power in Operation project – the first of its kind in the UK to address Scope 3 emissions from client vessels, driving net zero progress across the wider supply chain.
The Port is shortlisted for the Sustainable Supplier Award alongside Cundall, Peterson Energy Logistics, and Renewable Parts, and is shortlisted alongside Integrity HSE and Interocean Marine Services for the Best Practice Award.
“Being shortlisted in two categories is a fantastic endorsement of our ambition, action, and impact. Port of Aberdeen is proud to be setting the standard for maritime decarbonisation in the UK through pioneering initiatives like our Shore Power in Operation project – the first to target Scope 3 emissions from client vessels.”
Bob Sanguinetti, CEO, Port of Aberdeen, continued: "This early, proactive investment reflects our long-term commitment to sustainable growth and supports the transition to cleaner, greener port operations across the supply chain. With our Net Zero Strategy guiding the way, we’re determined to lead the charge towards becoming the UK’s first net zero port by 2040."
Winners will be announced live at the awards ceremony which takes place at the P&J Live on Thursday 21 August.
