Port of Aberdeen welcome Energy Secretary on first visit
We were delighted to welcome Secretary of State for the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero The Rt Hon Miatta Fahnbulleh MP to Port of Aberdeen on her first visit since being appointed to the role.
The opportunities and challenges of energy transition were the focus of discussions, particularly the need for an inclusive energy strategy that supports continued investment in oil and gas, protects North Sea jobs and skills, and accelerates the development of offshore wind.
The Secretary of State also met colleagues from operations, maintenance, SHEQ, and innovation on the quayside at South Harbour to hear first-hand about life at the port and their perspectives on the future of the energy industry in Aberdeen.
