Port of Aberdeen named sustainable supplier of the year

Port of Aberdeen was awarded the Sustainable Supplier Award at the 2025 Scottish Green Energy Supply Chain Awards, which took place last night (Thursday 21 August 2025) at the P&J Live.
The event welcomed more than 240 guests for the annual celebration of the vibrant renewable energy industry, and the people at the heart of the industry who make the deployment of billion-pound renewable energy projects possible.
The sustainable supplier accolade recognises and celebrates the port’s strategic net zero vision to becoming the UK’s first net zero port by 2040, and significant contribution to long-term maritime decarbonisation through the delivery of its £4 million Shore Power in Operation project – the first of its kind in the UK to address Scope 3 emissions from client vessels, driving net zero progress across the wider supply chain.
“Port of Aberdeen is proud to be setting the standard for maritime decarbonisation in the UK.”
Bob Sanguinetti DL, CEO, Port of Aberdeen, said: “It is an honour to be recognised alongside such respected peers in Scotland’s green energy supply chain. These awards are a tribute to the collective effort of our outstanding team at Port of Aberdeen and underline the positive impact the port is making in the region, both now and for future generations.
"Port of Aberdeen is proud to be setting the standard for maritime decarbonisation in the UK. Guided by our Net Zero Strategy, we are committed to sustainable growth and determined to lead the way towards becoming the UK’s first net zero port by 2040."

These latest award wins are further recognition of the strength and ambition of Port of Aberdeen, as it delivers on its vision to become the UK’s first net zero port by 2040, while anchoring the region’s future as a global energy, trade and tourism hub.
