We support with local charities and community group to provide project funding, as well as support with time, resources, or equipment, to help those most in need.

Strategic charity partnerships

We have established four multi-year strategic charity partnerships, which aim to deepen our impact and foster strong, long-term collaborative relationships with charities to create significant, sustainable social impact, and deliver mutually beneficial initiatives.

Positive local impact

It’s important to us that our funding has impact.

As society innovates and technology advances, the importance of inspiring the next generation into Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) careers continues to grow. Port of Aberdeen partnered with Aberdeen Science Centre to expand its capacity for delivering STEM community engagement sessions.

Between May 2023 and March 2024, 181 children and 85 adults attended 12 community sessions which explored chemical reactions, discovering geology, and overcoming engineering challenges. The sessions increased attendees’ STEM skills and knowledge, while building social skills in teamwork, communication, and problem solving.

  • 100% of participants are more likely to engage in STEM activities in the future

  • 98% of participants said science was the favourite thing about the session

  • 100% of participants enjoyed their experience
